Thank You!

Nov 7, 2019

It is Thanks-giving time...we at TimeSlips have two huge thank yous to give: Kate Britton and Susan McFadden, who guided us with such generous spirits and exquisite expertise.

Kate stepped down as COO in October to steward her growing family. And Susan will be stepping down as Board President and rotating off the board after 6 years come February. Kate brought us her wide smile and endless enthusiasm as she oversaw two years of our most tremendous growth. Under her guidance we built policies, procedures, programs, staffing, and revenue - from 300K to over a million in two years. It was a dizzying ride, but Kate made it fun for everyone.

Susan has been part of TimeSlips since its inception. When we were both professors at UWOshkosh, we spent many hours dreaming of how to change the experience of aging and dementia. Susan saw the very first production of a play inspired by TimeSlips stories - a production at UW Oshkosh, and every performance since then; at UWMilwaukee, Here Arts Center in New York, and all the way in Beattyville, KY. A founding board member, Susan was the keeper of the heart of TimeSlips, sharing our long story and our many many possibilities with new board members, staff, and nearly everyone she met. Her own work with dementia friendly communities - growing the Fox Valley Memory Project from dream to reality - inspired us all in turn.

There is excitement in the air at TimeSlips with a new, full-time (our first!) Executive Director coming on soon, and a new board president stepping into the role. But also a soft edge of sorrow as we say good-bye and THANK YOU to two such generous and inspiring souls.
